Why We Rage at Games

We all have those moments when a game is kicking your ass and the blood pressure is rising.  The controller has been thrown across the room several times.  Money has been flushed down the toilet as you will be needing a new controller.  Chances are your parents or significant other are telling you “Its just a video game.  No need to get so angry.”  They just don’t get it.  Is it about losing? No.  Is it about ego?  No.  Its about time.  Time is the most valuable commodity.  When you find yourself having to repeatedly replay a level or fight a boss, that’s time taken away from seeing the rest of the game.  You’re that much closer to dying without seeing what else the game has to offer.  That’s less time you have to experience life.  Its not gamer rage, its an existential crisis!
