Looks Like We’re Back To Blaming Videogames For School Shootings

Did we discover time travel and no one alerted me?  I thought it was 90s again.  As many of you you must know, another horrific school shooting happened with the usual political charades.  One thing I didn’t expect to hear was blaming videogames for the violence.  Ban the Grand Theft Autos and the Modern Warfares!  What?  You expect us to to actually address the issue?  Don’t be silly, that would take actual effort and compromise.  Politicians are once again scapegoating videogames for violent youths.  Never mind that all studies on the topic have been inconclusive.  Its older people pinning the blame on something they don’t understand.  I don’t want to get too political, as that isn’t the focus of this blog, but I don’t think its unreasonable to say that the public shouldn’t have access to military grade weapons.  Assault weapons only have one purpose, and that’s to mow down as many people as possible in a short amount of time.   That goes beyond self defense or hunting.  Regardless of where you are on the gun debate, we can all agree that its stupid to blame videogames when there’s no evidence that proves they lead to more violence.  Sit down and have an actual discussion to find a solution.  That isn’t too much to ask for.
